Wide-ranging things are on the horizon for Central A/G's Family Life Center. However, that means big hearted commitment from each of us followed by an intentional commitment to give financially. Please begin thinking and praying about a financial gift.

While final numbers are not squared away, clearly $300,000 towards the $1.2 million needed for completion will make this much more manageable. This will include a finished main floor, kitchen, required (by city) elevator, bathrooms downstairs and exterior landscaping/retention pond.

Please communicate to the church office either through a paper offering envelope or an on-line monetary gift what your financial commitment to this project is going to be. Paper brochures are available at the Welcome Desk with more visionary details.

Harley Motorcycle is for sale to assist with this project; help us spread the word so it sells. Also a diamond ring set and a woman's gold chain.

Pastor Cole's inspirational thoughts for July 2018: Be Trustworthy:

What does trustworthy leadership look like to you? The apostle Paul said, "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful" (1 Corinthians 4:2). And proverbs 13:17 says, "A wicked messenger galls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing." As the old saying goes, "Please don't listen to your speak; they watch your feet."

So how do you build the hidden variable of trust? Here are four keys to get you started:

    1. Character. Does your character reflect the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)? Are you the same person in private as you are in public?
    2. Communication. Failure to communicate usually leads people to jump to conclusions, second-guess intentions, and fill in the gaps with misinformed assumptions. Good communication keeps trust gaps from forming.
    3. Compassion. When people feel noticed and cared for by their leader or family or friend, they will always trust you more.
    4. Consistency. Anybody can do anything right once, but trustworthy people have learned to live with character, communicate and show compassion consistently. When the desired quality is delivered consistently over time, trust naturally grows.

Again, trust is the hidden multiplier. You feel its effects when you need it the most, or when it's no longer present.

Reflect on the four keys to building trust and give yourself a score from 1 to 10 (10 being the best). Where is your greatest strength and where do you need to ask the Lord for help. I trust you will allow yourself to grow in these inspirational thoughts.

  • Personal Living Tips

    Teamwork makes the dream work:

Luke 5:1-11 It's true that teams have the ability to accomplish more than any one person could do on their own. Jesus certainly understood this concept and intentionally teamed up high-capacity leaders with one another. He almost never sent people out to do ministry on their own. Teams get more done, generate higher levels of creativity and demonstrate greater problem solving ability, while providing encouragement and support for  members. Besides all that, teams have more fun. An old African proverb says, "If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together."
